Beijing probably has more bicycles than any other city in the entire world! Most people use bicycles as their main means of transportation in Beijing. And, you will quickly see that the people o Beijing have black, shiny hair and very dark eyes. Anything else on a native – and you can assume that it’s fake! Beijing is a loud and exciting city, where there’s always something happening.

Why I Love Beijing
I love Beijing, because it’s one of the most authentic cities that I have ever visited. The city is rich in tradition, while definitely moving forward into the future. Some of my favorite sites include the Great Wall, The Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. And, an afternoon of browsing on Wangfujing Street is something you definitely shouldn’t miss!

What’s Notable About Beijing
Beijing is the capital of China, and it will be host to the 2008 Summer Olympics. Construction is underway now in preparation. The city was founded sometime between 400-300 B.C., and was much different then than the city is now. Because of over-population, Beijing is experiencing many urban development problems similar to those of other modern countries; traffic, pollution and a migration of the poor to urban areas.
