Something’s Happening in Miami, Florida

Believe it or not, there is actually evidence of Native Americans living in the Miami, Florida area as many as 12,000 years ago. The first known settlers were the Tequesta Indians, who are well known for their practice of burying only the smallest bones of a deceased person. They actually placed the large bones on display instead of burying those as well.

Why I Love Miami

The Miami Metro Zoo is one of the most well-designed zoos in the United States, and it is the only zoo in the world to boast over 5,000 feet of exhibit space dedicated specifically to animal droppings!

What’s Notable About Miami

Miami is the home of several different cruiseline headquarters, and is the most popular cruise port in the U.S. Miami is also a very popular setting for movies, television shows and even video games.

What I Love About St. Paul, Minnesota

One of the twin cities, St. Paul actually became a city before Minnesota became a state! This city got its start when missionaries, explorers and traders were looking for the protection that local Fort Snelling could give them. Ironically, the officials of the fort eventually made the settlers move away from the fort as a result of the prominent whisky trade in the area!

Why I Love St. Paul

Every winter, the banks of the Mississippi are transformed into a winter wonderland for Winter Carnival; a celebration of food, fun, dancing and the crowning of the “King of the Winds”.

What’s Notable About St. Paul

St. Paul is home to no major league professional sports teams; however the city is the home of the Minnesota Thunder soccer team and the Minnesota Swarm, a National Lacrosse League team. St. Paul was also the birthplace of F. Scott Fitzgerald and Peanuts’ cartoonist, Charles Schultz.
